THE NEBRASKA HEALTH MINISTRY
NETWORK-
has
a two-fold mission: to assist congregations in developing a parish
nurse or health ministry program within their own church, and to
coordinate and strengthen the efforts of existing health ministry
programs throughout the state. A statewide health ministry conference
is held annually.
NATIVE
AMERICAN MINISTRY-
GRANTS
TO AMERICAN INDIANS IN NEBRASKA (GAIN)-
is an ecumenical funding consortium, pooling
resources, making grants to Native American projects and programs
throughout the state.
THE
NATIVE AMERICAN PARTNERS COMMITTEE-
is
an advocate for Native Americans and supports ecumenical Christian
ministry for Native Americans in Lincoln and Omaha.
THE NEBRASKA COMMISSION,
UNITED
MINISTRIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION-
the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nebraska, the Presbyterian
Church (USA), Synod of Lakes & Prairies (including the
Presbyteries of Central Nebraska, Homestead, and Missouri River
Valley), the Nebraska Conference of the United Church of Christ, and
the Nebraska Conference of the United Methodist Church work together
through the NEBRASKA COMMISSION, UNITED MINISTRIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION
to support a variety of teaching, counseling, worshipping and service
ministries for students, faculty and staff on the six college campuses.
THE
FARM CRISIS RESPONSE COUNCIL-
coordinates
planning among church bodies and farm groups to oversee the Rural
Response Hotline. With the support of the Nebraska Department of Health
and Human Services and the Office of Rural Health, the Council
facilitates the distribution of no-cost vouchers for confidential
mental health services to those affected by the rural crisis.
THE
PEACE WITH JUSTICE JOINT STRATEGY ACTION TEAM (JSAT)-
works on the continuing priorities of peace
with justice.
ECUMENICAL
LEGISLATIVE BRIEFING DAY-
is
an annual event featuring workshops on current legislation and
advocacy.
DISASTER
RESPONSE-
is
an informal network of church-based disaster reponders working with
Nebraska Voluntary Organization Active in Disaster.
THE ANGEL CONNECTION-
is a program that matches donors with those
who have a need. Referrals are made through churches and clergy.
DOMESTIC
VIOLENCE-
a
partnership of the Nebraska Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Coalition,
Family Violence Council of Lincoln, and Interchurch Ministries of
Nebraska.
